Milan Blog Post

The Duomo in Milan was one of the main things I was looking forward to during this trip, even though it was at the end and I was ridiculously tired. The gothic architecture of the spires was absolutely breathtaking and what was surprising to me was we actually had access to the roof of the Duomo! We got to walk all the way to the top and walk on the roof and see the view of the entire city. A small inconvenience was that the city was doing some sort of restoration process at the top so we didn’t get to experience the beauty of the entire roof but you could imagine the hidden parts.

Although I was not allowed inside the church because of the excessive shoulder exposure I was able to see some of the other student’s photos they took inside and I wish I could have seen it for myself. Seeing the outside and climbing the spires was enough for me and I am so happy I had the experience to see the Duomo up close instead of studying it in class and seeing photos online.

The rest of the city was alright even though it seemed kind of rushed. The shopping galleria was so extravagant and filled with fancy stores that I was slightly overwhelmed. A couple of us stopped and got gelato shaped like roses at a place called Amorino which were so unique and delicious!

Overall Milan was a cool place and I could have liked a day or two more there and i
