Italy is such an amazing place and it is more than I ever could have imagined. I have been learning about these amazing historical landmarks for the last 3 years in my classes as well as when I was a child and from high school. These landmarks that we have seen have showed me how the different eras have transformed and what made them so different from one another.  Anyone can study pictures online, but physically being able to see the detailed difference between the sculptures and the paintings has been incredible to help visualize what message the authors were trying to send.

Another reason why this trip has been so inspirational to me is the religious aspects that come along with a lot if the different eras and how the church has played a large role. I find it interesting how the church has switched from different religions back and forth depending on who was ruling at the time and the views and rules that they had for the people. Some of the religious works have absolutely taken my breath away being able to see something that is not only educational for myself, but always very personal when it comes to my religious views. These religious artworks are informative and important to the different time periods but they also mean me to me than just a historical landmark or piece of art. They help represent who I am and what I have been believing and learning about for most of my life.
